Three cousins, including two teenage girls, went missing from Baba Deep Singh Nagar in Kapurthala on Sunday evening, police said. Their families have named a suspect with whom they might have left.

Deputy superintendent of police Sheetal Singh said multiple teams were formed to trace the children, including two girls aged 16 and 13, and a nine-year-old boy. “The statements of their family members have been recorded. We have procured the CCTV footage from nearby areas and found them leaving their house. Initially, the families refused to give details. On Monday evening, one of their relatives named an individual with whom they might have gone,” he added.
The DSP said the location of the mobile phone used by the 16-year-old girl suggested their movement in a train near New Delhi. “The children will be traced soon,” he added.
The police were yet to register an FIR.
