Jammu: Three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) overground workers (OGWs) arrested from Rajouri district on September 14 had been operating for years, facilitating the movement of multiple terror groups from the Rajouri-Reasi belt to Shopian in South Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Friday.

The accused—Mohammad Azam, Zakir Hussain, and Mohammad Mushtaq of Kot Charwal village, Rajouri—provided food, shelter, and critical logistical support to LeT operatives.

A police spokesperson revealed that the trio acted as high-altitude guides through the Pir Panjal range. Investigations linked them to harbouring the terrorists eliminated during the 2023 Chassana encounter in Reasi district. They are also suspected of supporting several high-profile attacks across Rajouri in recent years.

Following their arrest, security forces recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) from an adjoining forest. Subsequent interrogations on Thursday led to the discovery of a hidden arms cache containing a pistol, a magazine, live ammunition, and two Chinese grenades. Police noted the arms were stashed for safe custody and intended for future strikes.
