Additional director general of police (ADGP) Mukesh Singh on Thursday stressed upon proper co-ordination among all intelligence agencies, Army, para-military forces, Jammu and Kashmir police and traffic police to ensure smooth and incident-free Amarnath yatra.
The yatra will commence on July 11 and will culminate on August 31. The yatra will commence simultaneously from both the routes — the Pahalgam track in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district. Chairing a high-level meet here for the pilgrimage, the ADGP discussed various issues with the officers of CRPF, intelligence agencies, civil administration, police, traffic and security wings, including adequate police and security personnel deployment.
“At the outset of the meeting, a detailed discussion was held and briefing was also given by the officers of CRPF, police and intelligence agencies in view of the present security scenario and possible threats to the yatra this year,” said an official spokesperson.
During the meeting, some of the issues were raised by the CRPF DIG and commandant concerned and they were assured that these issues will be addressed by the civil administration and district senior superintendents of police well before the deployment of manpower for the 62-day long yatra.
“The ADGP also advised the participants to ensure that a proper co-ordination is required to be maintained among all intelligence agencies, Army, paramilitary forces, traffic and security wing in their respective districts and area of responsibility for the smooth and incident free yatra,” he added.

{{/usCountry}}The ADGP also requested Jammu divisional commissioner Ramesh Kumar Jangid to take immediate action on certain issues raised by the CRPF commandants so that no inconvenience was caused to troops being deployed for the annual pilgrimage.
