Amarinder Brar, Padamjit Sandhu top performers at Chandigarh Golf Club’s monthly medal round

Brar finished six strokes ahead of runner-up Col Navneet Pal Singh, who carded 68 nett. In the gross category, Col SDS Batth was runner-up with 76.

Amarinder Singh Brar and Padamjit Singh Sandhu emerged the top performers as the Chandigarh Golf Club hosted its Monthly Medal Round on August 22 and 23. Brar won the overall best nett title with a score of 64, while Sandhu claimed the overall best gross title with 75.

Brar finished six strokes ahead of runner-up Col Navneet Pal Singh, who carded 68 nett. In the gross category, Col SDS Batth was runner-up with 76.

In the handicap categories, Col VK Madra topped the 10-18 handicap section with 68 nett, followed by Amrinder Singh with 69. Jaspreet Singh Bakshi won the 0-9 handicap category with 70 nett on a better-back-nine countback, edging Rakesh Jolly, who also returned 70. Anurag Mittal claimed the 19-24 handicap category with 75 nett, while Sukhinder Sandhu was runner-up with 80.

Manpreet Sandhu won the Ladies 18-hole category with 78 nett, ahead of Harinder Grewal with 83. In the ladies above 75 years categories, Kuljit Suri won the nine-hole event with 42 nett, while Binny Bath took the 18-hole title with 81 nett.

Col SDS Batth won the Loser’s Plate with 76, while Vikram Bhagwan finished runner-up with 77 on a better-back-nine countback. Himmat Singh Sandhu was second runner-up, also with 77.

AS Pannu won the closest-to-pin prize on Hole 14 after placing his shot 2 feet 4 inches from the pin. Ashwinder Singh and Manmohanjit Singh Chadha shared the straightest drive prize on Hole 13 in the online category.

The club also announced the results of the Independence Day Cup, with Maj Rajinder Singh Virk and Dr Ravisher Singh Toor emerging champions. Darvesh Kumar and Sanjeev Talwar finished runners-up.
