Six persons were killed and one critically injured after a speeding car rammed into a tree in Hisar’s Adampur area in the wee hours of Friday, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Sagar, Shobhit, Arvind, Abhinav, Deepak and Ashok, hailing from Khara, Barwala and Kishangarh villages of Adampur block and aged between 20 and 25. Bhuvesh, a native of Rajasthan, was critically injured and is under treatment at Maharaja Agrasen Medical College in Agroha.
Hisar police spokesperson Vikas Kumar said the incident took place around 2am on Friday when the youths were returning after attending a wedding function.
“When they reached near Neem Adda, the car in which they were travelling in rammed into a tree and an electric pole, and subsequently overturned. Six of the occupants died on the spot while one is hospitalised. We are ascertaining the reasons behind the incident. The victims’ bodies were handed over to their families after autopsy,” the spokesperson added.
