Three unidentified suspects were booked on Thursday for allegedly opening fire inside a society lift in Sector 52, police said.

Police said that the incident took place at 1am on Sunday and came to notice after residents spotted a hole in the lift’s metal body at Prashant Cooperative Group Housing Society.
CCTV footage shows three suspects, one with a firearm, entering the lift and a firing sound coming from the lift.
Narender Singh, the society president, submitted a written complaint against unidentified suspects at Sector-53 police station, following which a case under the Arms Act was registered.
Singh alleged that there is continuous movement of suspicious elements in a flat in the society. “The suspects had also visited the same flat on Saturday. Multiple times, residents had spotted them arriving at the flat armed,” he alleged.
Sandeep Turan, public relations officer of Gurugram police, said, “Police have collected the CCTV camera footage. An investigation has been launched, and suspects will be arrested soon once identified.”
