Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday alleged that the BJP-led government was deliberately avoiding a discussion in Parliament on the alleged theft of offerings at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, claiming that “money has become religion” for the ruling party.
Speaking to reporters in the Parliament complex, Yadav said the Opposition wanted a debate on the alleged misappropriation of temple offerings and irregularities in the education and examination system.
He alleged that both issues were linked to an “underground and unregistered” network of people associated with the BJP and its affiliates. “Both are being operated from the same place. The Opposition wants to discuss this; the government does not,” he claimed. “Offerings were stolen. Money was taken out in sacks and found in cans. Big people are involved. The BJP is fleeing from a debate on these issues,” Yadav said.
Yadav also alleged that the BJP government had “cheated every section of society,” citing the “loot of reservation,” lack of jobs for the youth, and inadequate prices for farmers’ produce
