Acting on information about the illegal transportation, police from Trans Yamuna police station intercepted the truck near Jharna drain on the Agra-Firozabad road, DCP Agra City Syed Ali Abbas said.

The arrested men were identified as Daluram, the truck driver, and Naniga Ram, the cleaner. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Excise Act at Trans Yamuna police station.

According to police, the liquor was allegedly procured from Punjab at cheaper rates and transported to Bihar for higher margins. The truck was owned by Vijay, a resident of Bahadurgarh, Haryana, while Deepak, who worked as a manager, allegedly coordinated the operation.

“Deepak handed over the truck to Daluram and Naniga Ram in Saharanpur and maintained contact with them through a WhatsApp group. The driver allegedly did not know the delivery destination and was to receive the location from Deepak later,” DCP Agra City said.
