Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday sharpened his attack on Samajwadi Party, saying the people will wipe out the party in the next elections. He also took aim at those showing dilapidated school buildings on social media and claimed that before 2017, months were spent on examinations, results, holidays and curfews. In addition, he hailed former chief minister Kalyan Singh.
Adityanath’s comment on the SP comes after its national president Akhilesh Yadav said at a press conference at the party headquarters in Lucknow that the SP remains intact because all his family members are Members of Parliament. The SP chief also rejected rumours that attempts were made by opponents to split the party.
In his attack on the Samajwadi Party, the chief minister said they always exploited poor people for the sake of their family. “Riots and disturbances were daily occurrences, and the joy of festivals was often snatched away. Development had stalled because the state lacked resources. Now, anyone who threatens the safety of a daughter is certain to find themselves on the path to Yamraj’s abode,” he said.

Development work is taking place in UP,” he said. “The conditions of government schools has improved,” Yogi remarked, adding that this work was not done earlier because the poor were never on the SP’s agenda. The CM said that there was a time when the SP had turned cheating into a birthright.

“Kalyan Singh Ji had given the state a distinct identity during his tenure as Chief Minister, but the SP auctioned off the state’s intellect by promoting mass cheating,” he said. “We work 18 hours a day. Good results are achieved only when we actively contribute to advancing every scheme and departmental function,” he asserted.
Hitting out at those showing dilapidated school buildings on social media, the chief minister said that these are monuments of those at whose behest this is being done. The state government has replaced old and dilapidated buildings with new ones under Project Alankar in secondary education, he said.
“The new education system is free from cheating and enriched with wisdom. Examinations are now being conducted on time. Before 2017, three months were spent on examinations, three months on results and three months on holidays and curfews. Children did not even get three months to study,” he said.
