Mumbai: A malfunctioning valve at the Malabar Hill reservoir in Walkeshwar disrupted water supply on Tuesday morning to several localities in south Mumbai – such as Walkeshwar Road, the stretch between Bandstand and Teen Batti, Teen Batti to Lok Bhavan, Banganga, Sagar Nagar and Ramkund Nagar.

According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials, the valve failure was detected at around 7:44am, and urgent repairs were initiated. To minimise inconvenience to residents, the civic body made alternative arrangements for water supply, which commenced after 10am.
The municipal administration has appealed to residents in the affected areas to use water judiciously and cooperate with civic authorities until the repair work is completed and normal supply is restored.
