Bodies of two youth, missing from Kandra police station (PS) limits since August 13, were recovered on Saturday from a grave in a forest land near Ramchandrapur-Rapcha football ground under Gamharia PS in Seraikela-Kharsawan district, police said on Saturday.

“A case was registered at Kandra PS on August 20 based on complaints by the families of two missing youth. They had alleged that some assailants had beaten up and abducted them. The Kandra PS officer-in-charge (OC) started an investigation and it came to the light that the two were murdered and buried in the forest department land behind the Rapcha football ground. Police acted promptly and dug out the grave and recovered the bodies and two accused were arrested. The deceased were identified as Rahul Hansda and Tapan Pradhan. Further investigation is ongoing,” Anubhav Bhardwaj, Seraikela sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), told the media on Saturday.
Police said prima facie, this case appeared to be a fallout of a dispute over stolen mobile phones but more conclusive details and motives behind the brutal murders could be known only after the post mortem reports and evidences.
According to the police, the case opened up during the interrogation of the two detained suspects, Phoolchand Hansda and Ravindra Mardi.
