The “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign will begin across Gautam Budh Nagar on Sunday, with the district administration planning a series of activities in residential societies, markets, schools, villages and industrial areas during the nine-day campaign ending August 17, officials said on Saturday.
The campaign will seek participation from resident welfare associations (RWAs), traders, industrial units, educational institutions, social organisations and the general public, besides government offices and local bodies.
“Har Ghar Tiranga is not merely a government programme, but a celebration of patriotism, national unity and public participation,” said District Magistrate Medha Roopam.
As part of the campaign, schools and public places will host tricolour-themed decorations, exhibitions, rangoli, painting, essay, debate, and general knowledge competitions, as well as cultural programmes based on the freedom movement.
In villages, the district administration has planned flag-hoisting and public participation programmes, along with selfie points at major programme venues. Fair-price shops and khadi outlets will also be included in the campaign.
Products made by self-help groups and those associated with the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative will be showcased during exhibitions.
“The district will also observe Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on August 14. Families of freedom fighters and soldiers who died in service are also to be honoured as part of the observance, with participation of elected representatives planned,” the DM added.
