Ram and Shravan Hardikar, managing director, Pune Metro, were speaking at the function organised by Save Pune Traffic Movement, Pune Knowledge Cluster, and Center for Environment Education.

“The PMPML is looking at Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation for just getting money, but not concentrating on improving its functioning,” said Ram.

He said that many buses are not in good condition and have been experiencing frequent bus breakdowns. “The PMPML needs to adopt a professional approach,” he added.

Ram also criticised the administration and said, “Due to poor planning, the Katraj Kondhwa Road work has been pending for the last nine years. We are trying to improve the traffic in the city and taking efforts for the same.”

Meanwhile, Hardikar instructed officials to improve last-mile connectivity for the Metro.
