PMC to issue property tax bills on May 1

Civic officials said that the state government has already announced to approve the tax rebate scheme for PMC in the next cabinet

Pune: Expecting a circular from the state government on its decision to continue with the 40 per cent discount on property tax, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to issue property tax bills from May 1 instead of the fiscal opening day of April 1.

Municipal commissioner Vikram Kumar said, “We will issue property tax bills after receiving the guidelines from the state government.”

Civic officials said that the state government has already announced to approve the tax rebate scheme for PMC in the next cabinet. Once it is officially approved, the urban development department would issue the guidelines for PMC.

Kumar said that the last date to claim the 5-10 per cent tax rebate for early bill payment will also be extended by a month.
