The Deccan police have arrested two men for allegedly threatening and robbing a youth preparing for competitive examinations, officials said on Tuesday.
The accused have been identified as Nikhil Sandeep Jadhav, 20, of Janata Vasahat, and Omkar Ramesh Garud, 21, of Mahatma Phule Peth.
Nagesh Hanmant Patil, 21, of Raj Sagramwadi Math in Sadashiv Peth had filed the police complaint.
According to the police, the complainant was out with his cousin sister in the Deccan area at around 5am on April 10 when the accused arrived on a two-wheeler and allegedly threatened the duo with a sickle and forced the victim to transfer ₹1,000 online from his mobile phone. The complainant was also physically assaulted.
Police examined CCTV footage and identified the suspects, said sub-inspector Ajitkumar Patil.
