The unaffiliated Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB) on Thursday alleged that the cricket Board’s decision to acknowledge a rival body and allow its representative to attend the February 19 Special General Meeting was in violation of the Supreme Court-appointed RM Lodha committee.
Secretary of CAB, Aditya Verma, said it has filed an application in the Apex court against the Board’s stand on the rival Bihar Cricket Association (BCA).
The court will hear the petition on March 3, the date it has set to take up the Board’s response to the Lodha panel recommendations.
“The Lodha committee recommended that no minister can be a member of the BCCI, but in the SGM on February 19, BCA was granted associate membership. BCA is headed by a minister in the Bihar government,” Verma, whose petition on former president N Srinivasan’s conflict of interest triggered the current upheaval in the BCCI, told the media.
Justice Lodha had recommended that any internal feud in Bihar cricket should be resolved by the BCCI’s ombudsman or by the court.
“In my application, I have raised the issue of BCCI’s invite to BCA and allowing its representative, Mrityunjay Tiwary, to attend its SGM. BCCI has illegally called one section. That is a violation of the Supreme Court-appointed Justice Lodha Panel,” Verma said.

{{/usCountry}}The BCCI had filed two separate affidavits in the Supreme Court, in 2014 and 2015, which mentioned that neither the ad hoc committee of the BCA nor the CAB was recognised by the Board.
