Girls secured a pass percentage of 82.62 as against boys who scored 75.84%, according to the results of the 2016 exam announced on Monday.

The overall pass percentage is 79.16, almost 2% less than last year. Rural students with a pass percent of 80.36 have done better than their urban counterparts with 77.63%. Bangalore rural with 89.63% has secured the best pass percentage.

At least 8.49 lakh students appeared for the exam between March 30 and April 13 at 3,082 centres across the state.
