The Delhi University’s (DU) School of Open Learning (SOL) is likely to are to begin admissions from June 26. The SOL is waiting for accreditation from the university grant’s commission’s distance education board (DEB).
CS Dubey, director of SOL, said the school had applied for accreditation on June 2—two days after the DEB issued notices to open universities asking them to apply for accreditation.
“We had applied immediately following the DEB’s notice and have submitted the affidavit as per rules. We are ready for admissions
and will begin the process as soon as we get a go-ahead from the board. There is no delay on our part,” Dubey said. SOL authorities met DEB officials on Tuesday, Dubey added.
“We are hopeful to get accreditation by Wednesday morning. We cannot begin admissions without the DEB’s nod. Online applications will begin by Friday, if we get the accredited as scheduled. Offline admissions will begin a week after,” Dubey said.
SOL begins its admission process by mid-June. This year the process has been delayed. Officials said that the process will continue till August 25, without late fee and after that there will be one extension till September 15 with late fee.

Dubey said the process for SOL’s BCom (Program) and English (Honours), Political Science (Honours) and BCom (Honours) wil be completed online. For BA programme the admissions will be held both online and offline.
“We want to encourage students to use the online mode and there will no application fee for those who apply in this mode,” said Dubey.
