NEET 2017: Archit Gupta secures AIR 2, was also second topper in AIIMS entrance

Archit Gupta succeeded after following an austere study schedule.

After two years of no basketball, no video games, and no social media, studying frequently for 14-15 hours in a single day, Archit Gupta has won an All-India Rank of second place in both the AIIMS and the NEET exam.

NEET results were announced on Friday morning.

The 17-year-old from Indore scored a perfect 100% in the AIIMS and 96.5% in the NEET. A total of 3,64,242 students registered for the former exam, and 11,38,890 for the latter.

Archit will seek admission from AIIMS New Delhi. Counselling for the program begins next week. After graduation, Archit hopes to become a neurosurgeon.

He took coaching from the Indore Center of the Allen Career Institute, which is based in Kota. His father, Vishwanath Gupta, is a businessman, and his mother, Rashmi Gupta, is a housewife.

Talking to HT over the phone from Delhi, Archit said that he expected to get a good rank, but not second in the nation. He recommended that other students not waste time, focus on studying in school and at coaching institutes, and follow the NCERT courses as well as their occasional revisions.
