CBSE Class 12 third rank holder cored 100 in English - the subject in which topper lost 1 mark
Supriya Kaushik, a student of Cambridge School in Sector 27 of Noida, scored 497 out of 500 and shared the third rank with six others.
Supriya Kaushik, who got the third rank in Class 12 CBSE results announced on Friday, scored a perfect 100 in English — the only subject in which the topper, Meghna Srivastava, lost one mark.
Kaushik, a student of Cambridge School in Sector 27 of Noida, scored 497 out of 500 and shared the third rank with six others. A student of humanities, Kaushik scored 100 in English and History, 99 in Political Science and 98 in Geography.
“I am so happy that I have done my parents proud. I was hoping to get 95-96%,” said Kaushik.
She said her parents and teachers supported her all along and gave her the freedom to make her own choices.
“Even in Class 10, when I had scored 10 CGPA, my parents never forced me to pursue any particular stream and allowed me to study humanities. This is the reason I never took tuitions,” said Kaushik.
Her father Diwakar Kaushik works as a general manager in NTPC Dadri and her mother Seema Kaushik is a teacher at Lotus Valley International School in Noida.
“We are extremely proud of our daughter’s performance. This is a tremendous achievement and it is all due to her hard work,” said Diwakar.
Kaushik said she is an amateur singer and Kathak dancer. “I have practised singing for 5-6 years and I am currently taking lessons in Kathak. I am also learning French,” she said. She aims to get admission in Lady Sri Ram College of Commerce to study psychology.
When asked for a tip for her juniors, Kaushik said that one should avoid taking unnecessary pressure.
