Students in Tamil Nadu, who took the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) or Class 10 board examination, performed marginally better than last year with a slight increase of 0.8% in the pass percentage at 94.4.
Nearly 10,38,000 students took the exams this year, the results of which were announced on Friday, and out of which 9,26,711 passed.
The Tamil Nadu Board that conducts the SCCL exam did not name the toppers in various subjects and streams as per a decision taken by a high-level committee. The board followed the same decision with the Class 12 results announced a few days ago.
But according to the results announced, 3811 students scored 481 marks out of 500 and 13,759 scored full marks in mathematics.
This year too, girls performed better than boys with a pass percentage of 96.2 as compared to 92.5 of the boys.
In terms of pass percentage, Virudunagar stood first with 98.55% students clearing the exam in the district followed by Kanyakumari with 98.17%, and Ramanathapuram with 98.16%.
