The state government has decided to seek help from ‘Super 30’ to prepare a roadmap for helping meritorious poor Class 10 and 12 students of government schools crack IITs.
The move comes in the wake of some meritorious underprivileged boys of UP making it to the prestigious IITs.
Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has directed senior officials to make efforts in this regard following which special secretary to CM, Muthukumar Swami has been named nodal officer for the task.
Under the ambitious plan, government will select talented students of Class 10 and 12 of government schools who are financially unable to attend expensive coaching classes.
The Patna-based coaching institute that has been providing free-of-cost IIT coaching to underprivileged children of Bihar for 11 years, had recently shown interest to extend its arms for bright students of Uttar Pradesh.
Ensuring cent percent selection for the students in IIT, the coaching wants to conduct a test for bright students of Lukcnow, Kanpur and Varanasi this year.
Talking to HT, founder of the institute Anand Kumar said, “For the first time, four students of Uttar Pradesh were selected in Super 30 last year. Looking at the immense talent, we thought of conducting a test this year as well for the bright ones of the state. I’m happy chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has acknowledged our hard work and dedication.”
Kumar said the selected students will live at his house for one year and will get free fooding as well. A normal day the students begin at 6:30 am and the classes begin at 7:30 that continue till 12, when the coaching breaks for lunch. After two hours of rest, the students get back to studies at 2pm and continue till 6pm. This is followed by a tea break and from 7pm onwards, it is time for self studies, which most of them carry on till 1 am. They are served dinner around 9 pm.

{{/usCountry}}“What is best about the coaching is that the students belong to homogenous background and thus understand each other very well. They help each other in studies as well,” Anand said.
After selection, most of them stay in touch and even come back to conduct sessions and motivate students before the final exams. Many even stay for days together to help the students with their studies, Anand added.
