Anekal comes under the Bangalore district and it is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. People of Anekal voted for Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
Anekal assembly constituency had 3,48,102 electors in 2018, out of which 1,84,795 were male voters and 1,63,228 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election, there were 12 candidates in the fray from Anekal constituency. Anekal was one of 80 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a close contest with Indian National Congress's B.Shivanna winning the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's A.Narayanaswamy by a margin of just 8,627 votes.
The top two candidates split 97.2% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's B.Shivanna got a total of 1,13,894 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's A.Narayanaswamy secured 1,05,267 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate G. Srinivas secured 2,932 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 50.5%, 46.7% and 1.3% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's Shivanna B. beat Bharatiya Janata Party's A. Narayanaswamy by 39,182 votes.
