Krishnarajanagara is the assembly constituency which comes under the Mysore district. It is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 for Krishnarajanagara will be held on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
Krishnarajanagara assembly constituency had 2,01,189 electors in 2018, out of which 1,01,121 were male voters and 1,00,057 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election, there were 9 candidates in the fray from Krishnarajanagara constituency. Krishnarajanagara was one of 37 seats won by the Janata Dal (Secular). It was a close contest with Janata Dal (Secular)'s Sa. Ra. Mahesh winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's D. Ravishankar by a margin of just 1,779 votes.
The top two candidates split 96.8% of votes between them. Janata Dal (Secular)'s Sa. Ra. Mahesh got a total of 85,011 votes, while Indian National Congress's D. Ravishankar secured 83,232 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate H. G. Shwetha Gopala secured 2,716 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 48.9%, 47.9% and 1.6% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Janata Dal (Secular)'s Sa.Ra.Mahesh outperformed Indian National Congress's Doddaswamegowda by 15,052 votes.
