Yelahanka is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Bangalore district. Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 for Yelahanka will be held on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
Yelahanka assembly constituency had 3,73,987 electors in 2018, out of which 1,92,813 were male voters and 1,81,125 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Yelahanka constituency had 13 candidates for assembly seat contention. Yelahanka was one of 104 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's S.R.Vishwanath won the election by upstaging Janata Dal (Secular)'s A M Hanumanthegowda by a margin of 42,503 votes.
The top three candidates split 98.4% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's S.R.Vishwanath got a total of 1,20,110 votes, while Janata Dal (Secular)'s A M Hanumanthegowda secured 77,607 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate M N Gopalakrishna grabbed the third spot with 41,449 votes. The top three parties got 49.4%, 31.9% and 17.1% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Bharatiya Janata Party's S.R. Vishwanath defeated Janata Dal (Secular)'s B. Chandrappa by 17,728 votes.
