Nachan comes under the Mandi district and it is one of the 68 Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Nachan voted for Himachal Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on November 12 and the result was declared on December 8.
Nachan assembly constituency had 74,880 electors in 2017, out of which 37,675 were male voters and 37,205 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the 2017 Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 3 candidates in the fray from Nachan constituency. Nachan was one of 44 seats won by the Bharatiya Janta Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janta Party's Vinod Kumar comfortably winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Lal Singh Kaushal by a huge margin of 15,896 votes.
The top two candidates split 98.7% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janta Party's Vinod Kumar got a total of 38,154 votes, while Indian National Congress's Lal Singh Kaushal secured 22,258 votes. Independent candidate Satya Prakash secured 804 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 62.3%, 36.4% and 1.3% respectively.
In Himachal Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janta Party's Vinod Kumar outperformed Indian National Congress's Tek Chand Dogra by 3,031 votes.
