The embattled medic has been behind bars since early November last year, when he was convicted for involuntary manslaughter for administering the fatal dose of anaesthetic propofol, which cost the King of Pop his life in 2009, Contactmusic reported.

Murray was sentenced to serve four years in prison.

He has now started off 2012 by being stripped of his medical credentials by members of the Medical Board of California.

The action is automatically taken when a physician is convicted of a felony and handed a jail sentence, according to Tmz.com.
