Dharmendra’s banner Vijayta Films’ new website www.vijaytafilms.com will go live on June 3. While the website has been under construction for the past few months and was scheduled to go live in April, it was delayed due to a death in the family. Sunny Deol too was tied up with his shoot schedules and kidney stone treatment.
Dharmendra says, “The website will give us a chance to connect with fans worldwide without a mediator. Though I am not very tech-savvy, I am quite kicked about the development of the site and happy with what Sunny has shown me so far.” Equally excited are brothers Sunny and Bobby, who have been closely monitoring the content.
Epigram has been roped in to design the website, which will have plug-ins for a Youtube channel page and a Facebook page. The site aims to use the large resource of their archives, namely films produced by the banner. “We also want to put up synopses, promos and film stills of about 700 movies that dad, Bobby and I have done collectively. Currently, we are in the process of getting the rights to stream these promos on the site. This part is a long process, so we will keep adding things to the website,” says Sunny.
An umbrella site, which focuses on the Deols, is under construction and will take a few months to get ready. It will be a one-stop shop for everything about the film family. "Besides the plug-ins of social networking sites and applications for users to download pictures on their cell phones, there will also be information available for business, media, press kits as well as merchandise."
