But when it comes to their relationship, Hollywood actor of Indian origin, Freida Pinto, 28, doesn’t mind accepting that she dominates beau Dev Patel, 22. The actor, who was in the Capital over the weekend, sat with us for a candid chat on her wedding plans and her much talked about Bollywood debut in the upcoming flick NH10, alongside actor Raj Kumar Yadav.

Dev told us in an interview last year that you are dominating. Is that true?
Tell me which relationship hasn’t been successful if the woman does not have a slightly stronger say! Trust me, we don’t do it out of being dominant and powerful. This is no way for us to show up. It’s just a quality. In successful relationships, only let the woman win.

The quintessential question, when are you getting married?
I don’t know. For me, whenever it happens, it happens. That is not in my agenda right now. What took you so long to sign a Bollywood film? It must have taken quite a thought before picking up the right one?

I was always on the lookout for interesting Indian Indie cinema. The films that match my sensibility are not made on a very big scale. A lot are made but then not really promoted, so they go into oblivion. But now, it is being made, and I can talk about it. People like Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar (Banerjee), Navdeep (Singh), Anusha Rizvi, Kiran Rao and Hansal Mehta are doing it.

Any plans to roll out your own production house to make the films you want to?
I have absolutely thought of this and I will do it.
