People react to facebook ban

The government’s decision to prosecute social networking sites such as Facebook and 18 other websites including Google and Yahoo, saw mixed reactions from people on microblogging site Twitter that was abuzz with comments on Saturday morning.

The government’s decision to prosecute social networking sites such as Facebook and 18 other websites including Google and Yahoo, for carrying content that allegedly promotes enmity between classes, saw mixed reactions from people on microblogging site Twitter that was abuzz with comments on Saturday morning.

Author Chetan Bhagat posted, “I find religion based quotas offensive. So do many others. Can we ban the government for it? (sic).”

While music composer Vishal Dadlani wrote: “Blaming facebook and google for objectionable content is like blaming a notebook company because someone wrote bad things in their notebook.”

Another Twitter user, Rohit Pandey, wrote: “Nothing is goin’ to happen, don’t worry! (sic)”
