Kanika Kapoor’s new Pali Hill home is still in the process of being done up. But the Baby Doll singer still lets us take a peek into her colourful closet. She loves to shop and is especially fond of shoes.

At home, we’ll catch you wearing: “I’m always in a long, off-shoulder, H&M kind of T-shirt at home. If I’m stepping out, I’ll either be in a pair of track pants or shorts paired with a simple T-shirt.”

Red carpet diva: “I love the couture brands that I collect. For red carpets, I prefer dresses. They flatter my body type better than a suit. Besides, I’m just more comfortable in them.”

Fashion faux pas: “Recently, at an awards show abroad, my dress turned out to a lot shorter than I’d thought it would be. It was quite embarrassing.”

Shoe crazy: “I love my shoes and I spend a lot of on them. I’ve had this fetish forever, and I’ve lost track of how many pairs I own.”

Style inspiration: “Growing up, my influences came from my mother and whatever little TV I watched. My grandmother taught me to always dress according to my age and body type. Within Bollywood, I think Sonam Kapoor has an amazing sense of style. Internationally, I follow Chiara Ferragni (blogger, fashion designer) of The Blonde Salad.”

Moody dresser: “When it comes to what I’m wearing, it depends on my mood, where I’m going and what I’m doing. As I’m growing older, I think I’m dressing down, keeping it comparatively simple.”

Global shopper: “I like shopping in Mykonos, Greece, because you always get different things there. Turkey is another great place to shop. I love London for its vintage markets. Portobello Market always has really good stuff that’s very well priced. I also travel for work, so I’m exposed to many new places and brands.”
