Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut’s racy Cannes gowns look too similar

Deepika Padukone and Kangana Ranaut wore very similar dresses at Cannes Film Festival 2018 on Thursday. Both wore risqué sheer, beaded Zuhair Murad gowns with dramatic trains.

Deepika Padukone turned more than a few heads on Thursday when she stepped onto the Cannes 2018 red carpet. Effortless as always, the actor showed up in a scene-stealing sheer dress with strategically placed beading, and this, ladies and gents, is a vision.

Wearing an all-over floral-embroidered (and totally see-through) Zuhair Murad gown, Deepika immediately received some rave reviews for her look. She paired the flowing gown and matching cape with a dramatic long train with a pair of 70 carat emerald and diamond earrings, and a diamond ring from Lorraine Schwartz and Nicholas Kirkwood heels.

Deepika maintained a pastel palette in both dress and make-up, wearing pale pink lipstick and black, smudgy eyeliner to complement her ivory gown.

But before we crown Deepika one of the best-dressed stars at Cannes 2018, there’s just one thing you should know: Kangana Ranaut’s peekaboo dress from her Cannes outing on the same day has more than a few similarities.

Although in a different colour scheme, Kangana also wore a beaded, see-through gown from the same designer, Zuhair Murad. The Queen actor let her sheer-train dress do the talking by wearing no jewellery and keeping her hair pulled back in a pompadour-and-braid combination. Kangana took curly hair-spiration to new edgy heights with this hairstyle. Her make-up featured the slightest flush of pink on cheeks and lips that played up her exaggerated smoky eye.

Although Deepika and Kangana received the lion’s share of the Internet’s focus for their Cannes looks, they weren’t the only ones to bare almost all. Actor Mallika Sherawat also wore a revealing gown to the Cannes 2018 red carpet that showed off her perfectly toned figure.
