On Independence Day, MaryKay Carlson, the US envoy to India, shared images of herself wearing a traditional saree. Carlson decided based on a Twitter poll where she asked users to help her decide which saree to wear.

When MaryKay Carlson, the Charge d’Affaires at the US Embassy in New Delhi, wanted to wear a saree for India’s 71st Independence Day, she decided to ask Twitter users to help her choose one.
