In a written communiqué issued by local Congress unit, the party leaders including the local MLA alleged that the Rao Inderjit himself floated an illegal colony on 50 acres of land in neighboring district Rewari, his hometown.

The rebel Congress MP was also accused of acquiring license to develop real estate projects in collaboration with a noted developer firm on 70 acres of land in Rewari only.

Although Singh refuted the allegations of having floated unauthorized colony in Rewari but acknowledged that he collaborated with the developer firm Unitech and acquired license from the Haryana to develop a project at his ancestral land measuring 33 acres in Sector 15 in Rewari.

Local Congress unit accused Rao Inderjit Singh of launching scathing attack against the Bhupinder Singh Hooda led Haryana government after the authorities stopped him from floating an illegal colony in 50-acre land at Rao Gopal Dev Chowk on Narnaul Road in Rewari without taking the required license from the government.

Rao Dharampal the party MLA from Badshahpur constituency also alleged, “Rao Inderjit Singh collaborated with a developer firm and got the change of land use (CLU) permission to develop a project in 70-acre land in Rewari.

Singh approached the state government number of times to the benefit of one of his representatives in the real estate business in Gurgaon. This man is the face of Singh here.”

While defending his stand, the rebel MP Singh said that he did not even one inch of land at Rao Gopal Dev Chowk. “I am not responsible for the land if at all any of my family members owns here. However, as regards the Sector 15 where I owned ancestral land measuring 33 acres, I collaborated with Unitech in the capacity of a farmer.

I received 1250-yard developed plots for each acre I entered into the arrangement with the developer. I did not float a developer firm in the name of family members or others as was done by many politicians or use my good office to influence farmers and buy their land,” he added.
