Yadav discussed the issues of water supply, sewage system and stormwater drains in the sector and sought status reports.

Residents also drew the attention of authorities to the poor condition of parks, temporary and permanent encroachment and problems in the local market.

Last week, Hindustan Times highlighted the problems of flooding in the area after the rains and the protests against recently started paid parking system in the market. The estate officer assured that the encroachment across the sector will be removed within 15 days and action will be taken on other civic issues as well.

“The market lacks basic amenities. There are no toilets or streetlights in the entire market. Though 22 poles electric poles have been installed, there are dysfunctional,” said MC Yadav, president, shopkeepers’ welfare association. RWA president Colonel (retired) Mann Singh said the menace of stray animals was a nuisance for residents. There are nearly 4,000 pigs and 25 monkeys in the sector, he claimed.
