Gurgaon toll plaza to be split

To decongest the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway toll plaza, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has allowed the concessionaire, Delhi Gurgaon Super Connectivity Limited (DGSCL), to go ahead with experiments with other configurations, including the split toll plaza option.

Now, the toll operator can set up a few booths just ahead of the existing 32-lane toll plaza on both sides of the expressway. DGSCL has been asked to submit a report within 15 days.

During the hearing on Thursday, the division bench said the assistant commissioner of police, Gurgaon, should also check if there was any improvement in the traffic situation.

The concessionaire’s counsel informed the bench that as per the earlier direction of the high court, five toll collection booths with computers on both sides of the toll plaza had been installed.
