Commuters heading from Cyber City and DLF Phase 3 to the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway on Tuesday had an easier time as a new underpass was opened for public on a trial basis near DLF Phase 2 metro station.

Built by DLF and the Haryana urban development authority (Huda), the two-lane underpass will help commuters going from Cyber City and DLF Phase 3 avoid merging with traffic coming from Golf Course Road through the Sikanderpur underpass.
For many returning home from their workplaces in Cyber City, the new underpass will help avoid a bottleneck and save them 15 minutes of travel time.
“Taking a right turn from Cyber City towards NH8 was nearly impossible. There are no traffic lights or traffic police and the spot was chaotic due to the convergence of traffic in the absence of any traffic monitoring. The underpass helps me avoid this turn and reach Delhi-Gurgaon expressway easily,” said Shailendra Gupta of Sector 15 part 2.
Conversely, the underpass will also help office goers heading to Cyber City in the morning peak hours.

With traffic going from Cyber City to NH8 using the new underpass, I can reach my office in 20 minutes,” said Mihir Kohli of Aralias, DLF Phase 5.
The 394-metre underpass is part of a 16-lane, signal-free project between sectors 55/56 to Shankar Chowk.
“Using this underpass, traffic from Cyber City and DLF Phase 3 will be able to head back towards Shankar Chowk, thereby negating any chances of commuters taking a long detour or going the wrong way. It will also allow considerable reduction of traffic load on Cyber City’s roads and on the recently opened first U-turn near Building 9B in Cyber City,” said a DLF spokesperson.
