Acclaimed Hollywood director Christopher Nolan is known to keep his plots secretive as long as possible. We already have a release date for his next -- July 21, 2017 -- but no details regarding the plot. However, it seems that few clues about his upcoming project have been dished out.
France’s La Voix Du Nord has claimed that the 45-year-old director is working on a World War II drama in the country and The Playlist saying that he and his screenwriter brother Jonathan are already scouting locations in Dunkirk, reports the Independent.
This marries up with Dunkirk mayor Patrice Vergriete’s recent announcement, “Filming of an American blockbuster would take place in June 2016 by a world-famous director.”

It is thought that the film will be based on the Miracle of Dunkirk, a British military operation that saved more than 330,000 Allied troops who were surrounded by the German army in the harbour and on the beaches. The evacuation was triggered by brute force attacks by the Nazi war machine against the Netherlands and the French port home to Allied operations.
The story sounds perfect for Nolan’s sense of scale, and yet it is a stark break from the sci-fi genre which has kept him absorbed for so long.
