Music legend Elton John is being eyed by director Matthew Vaughn to star in the sequel of Kingsman: The Secret Service. It has not been confirmed what role the 69-year-old Rocket Man singer will play but there is a strong possibility that he might be playing himself, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Although prominent in doing voice-overs and soundtracks for movies and televisions, John has few experiences of acting in front of the camera.

Taron Eggerton returns as Eggsy in Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

Despite his thin acting resume, Elton’s involvement in the Kingsman franchise is something Vaughn wanted the first time over. “I was umming and ahhing ‘cause it had a whole fun subplot about celebrities being kidnapped (in Kingsman: The Secret Service). And I had an idea of, who’s the worst celebrity you’d want to have locked in a cell? And I came up with Elton John, and having Elton John throwing these huge tantrums. And then I wanted to do an action scene of Elton John kicking the living daylights out of people,” Vaughn had said.

“The Golden Circle” continues to follow Eggsy (Egerton) who teams up with Kingsman’s American counterpart, The Statesman, after the British spy organisation was destroyed. Principal photography is set to begin in London.
