Deadline.com has announced that British actor Jared Harris will join Kit Harrington (Game of Thrones) and Emily Browning (Sleeping Beauty) in the historical disaster movie Pompeii.
Harris, who starred in Sherlock Holmes 2 and appeared in Mad Men, will play a key part in this movie about the Italian city of Pompeii, which was buried when Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD. He will play a rich trader who recently freed a slave named Milo (Kit Harrington). Milo will brave the lava to save his beloved, who is also his former master's daughter.

Paul W.S. Anderson, who is known for the Resident Evil films, is currently filming the movie in Italy, where Pompeii stood. The cast and crew of the movie will fly to Toronto at the end of March to finish shooting.
