While physical media continues to die a slow death, it appears some fans are still paying extremely close attention. It has been brought to everyone’s attention online that certain home video box sets of Marvel’s Avengers series have made a serious goof-up on their covers.

Proof that Iron Man has a heart? Robert Downey Jr is missing his arc reactor.

As always, the ‘news’ was first shared on Reddit. The first post revealed that for the UK home video release of the three Avengers movies, the logos for the first and third films appear to have been exchanged. Released in 2012, the first Avengers’ logo had a silvery tint, while the third film’s logo is more on the purple side.

Notice something off?

“I really hope whoever is responsible for this notices and fixes it before it goes on sale. While it’s a small mistake, it still doesn’t look right, especially if you want to display it as a collector’s item,” the Redditor wrote. “Oh wow that would slowly drive me insane hahah good catch!” one fan responded.

Infinity War crossed $2 billion at the box office during its release, making it one of only four films in history to have crossed the mark. While home video revenues have been receding on a year-to-year basis, many fans - especially die hard Marvel fans - make it a point to purchase these collectors editions.

Marvel’s next two films are Captain Marvel, due out in March, and the hotly anticipated Avengers 4, whose title will be revealed by the end of the year, according to Marvel chief Kevin Feige.

The film will conclude this phase in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following which the studio will likely introduce a new roster of characters to take the record-breaking franchise forward. Disney chief Bob Iger has said that they have over 7000 characters to choose from, and perhaps even the X-Men, whose rights Disney will own as soon as their takeover of 20th Century Fox comes through.
