Vin Diesel announces the end of Fast & Furious franchise

Fast & Furious franchise will get a giant sendoff -- a trilogy which will see the team lead by Vin Diesel back in action before the franchise ends.

Here’s some good news and some bad: Vin Diesel has announced three new films of the Fast & Furious series. And the bad news is that this trilogy will be last in the series.

Vin Diesel has announced the beginning of Fast & Furious’ end. A trilogy will serve as the franchise’s giant sendoff.

Diesel, aka Dominic Toretto for the series’ fans, took to Facebook to announce Universal’s approval for the trilogy, beginning Furious 8. The film is yet to get a director after Furious 7 director James Wan refused to return.

Talking about the closing trilogy, Diesel wrote, “The fans of the Fast & Furious SAGA are the best fans in the world...” he wrote. “Since I became the Producer in 2008, you have been with me every step of the way... literally giving me feedback that proved invaluable. Thank you... Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision... they have been like family... I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga.”
