A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper and a five-year boy were killed on Friday when terrorists attacked a team of security forces in Bijbehara of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, police said.

“Terrorists fired upon CRPF party at #Bijbehara #Anantnag resulting in death of a #minor #boy and a CRPF personnel. Area cordoned off. Case registered,” the police tweeted.
The terrorists had opened fire at a road opening party of CRPF’s 90 Battalion near the Padshahi Bagh bridge in Bijbehara area at around 12:10pm, news agency PTI quoted an official as saying.
The CRPF personnel and the boy were injured in the attack and were taken to a hospital where both of them succumbed, the official said.
He said security forces have cordoned off the area and a hunt has been launched to nab the attackers.
In another incident, at least two terrorists were killed by security forces on Friday during a gunfight, which was raging since Thursday evening in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said.
