Head constable killed in truck crash in Rajasthan’s Kotputli: Police

A head constable posted on highway patrol duty was killed after a speeding truck hit him in the Paniyala area of Rajasthan’s Kotputli-Behror district on Thursday.

Police identified the deceased as head constable Rajendra Yadav. The accident took place on the Ambala-Paniyala highway in front of Delhi Public School.

According to the police, the truck was travelling from the Ambala highway towards Kotputli when it hit Yadav, who was on duty on the highway. The impact was severe, and he died at the spot.

Fellow police personnel immediately took Yadav to the government BDM Hospital in Kotputli, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

“We have seized the truck following the accident and detained its driver. He was taken to Paniyala police station, where further legal action is under way,” Kotputli-Behror Superintendent of Police (SP) Satveer Singh said.

The police department said the deceased head constable would be accorded a guard of honour and given a respectful farewell. The accident also briefly disrupted traffic and caused panic on the Ambala-Paniyala highway. Police managed the situation at the spot and continued their investigation.
