Three police officials were suspended in the wake of a robbery in Mathura in which two traders were killed, police said.
Sub-inspector Prateek Kumar, in-charge police out post Holi Gate, along with two constables were suspended on Tuesday for the incident in Koyalawali Gali, superintendent of police (city) Ashok Kumar said.
He said local police officials have been given three days to crack the case.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh director general of police Sulkhan Singh and state power minister Srikant Sharma are scheduled to visit Mathura on Wednesday to take stock of the situation.
Additional director general (Agra zone) Ajai Anand visited the spot on Tuesday evening and assured the traders that the case would be worked out at the earliest.

{{/usCountry}}“We are planning to launch a scheme for the safety of traders,” he told the traders.
“It is a serious matter and we have taken it seriously,” Anand told reporters.
On May 15, two traders were killed and two others were injured during a robbery in Koyalawali Gali. Six armed men came on motorbikes and barged into jewellery shops in the market falling under Kotwali police station limits, and opened fire. Two persons, identified as Vikas and Megh, were killed, while two others were injured and were hospitalised.
