SBI cashier dies of heart attack in Bhopal amid rush to exchange notes

A 45-year-old cashier at the Neelbad branch of State Bank of India here reportedly died of heart attack on Sunday evening at Ratibad locality in Bhopal.

A 45-year-old cashier at the Neelbad branch of State Bank of India here reportedly died of heart attack on Sunday evening at Ratibad locality in Bhopal.

The deceased collapsed in the bank at around 6 pm. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The cashier was working as banks stayed open on Sunday to cope with the rush of customers seeking to exchange demonetized banknotes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denominations.

“The police are yet to register the matter under section 174 of CrPC as his family members are yet to reach the hospital. The required procedure would be done once his kin reaches here,” said investigating officer, assistant sub-inspector Gyan Singh.
