The government has accorded ‘Z’ category security to Shaurya Doval, son of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and has upgraded former Jammu and Kashmir governor NN Vohra from ‘Y+’ to the top level of ‘Z plus’, a home ministry official familiar with the matter said.Under Z-category, Shaurya Doval will be provided a round-the-clock security shield by 15 to 18 commandos of the CISF.

The official said the intelligence agencies had carried out a threat perception on Shaurya Doval, who is associated with think tank India Foundation, and found that he faces threat from forces “inimical to his father”.
In addition, over a dozen BJP leaders in West Bengal, where incidents of poll-related violence occurred, have also been provided security cover of the central force.
