The prime accused, Siddhartha Sarma, has moved a fresh discharge petition before the court. The petition is expected to be taken up for hearing at a later date.

Zubeen Garg’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, welcomed the bail denial. “Zubeen trusted and loved these people, but they betrayed him. I also considered them family, but my husband’s death exposed their true faces. They are demons, and I demand strict punishment for them,” she said.

Zubeen Garg died in Singapore on September 19, 2025, reportedly during a swimming-related incident, ahead of his scheduled performance at the North East India Festival.

The death was initially termed accidental before Assam Police filed a criminal negligence and murder case against seven accused, who were arrested in October. A charge sheet has been filed against the seven accused.
