For Warner, this was not only a continuation of his good form in the last year but it represented a redemption for the left-hander in India. After opting to bat on a flat Chinnaswamy stadium wicket, Warner and Aaron Finch started cautiously before the dashing left-handed opener broke the shackles by smashing Mohammed Shami for two boundaries in the fourth over.
Warner also capitalised on some loose bowling from Umesh Yadav as he smashed him for two consecutive fours in the sixth over. The 30-year-old reached the landmark when he hit a four off Kedar Jadhav towards backward point.
