Three persons were arrested for attempting to rob a private bank in Hosur industrial town of the district, police said on Wednesday.

Management of the private Muthoot Bank on busy Nethaji road in Hosur lodged a complaint with police three days ago after the main door of the bank was damaged.
Investigation showed some persons had tried to break open the front door, but after the security alarm went off, the robbers fled from the scene. The bank had kept about Rs 38 crore in the currency chest, police said.
Krishnagiri district police had formed a special team to nab the culprits and recovered a few duplicate keys, electric cutters and clothes from the spot.
Goutham Sharma and Prasanth Decca of Assam and Manojkumar of Orissa, who were previously working as security personnel of the bank, were arrested from their hideout in Chandapuram region in Karnataka.
